Bob Saget

Oh, Bob. You are such a stellar performer.

Bob Saget is one of my favorite actors... I have to say (not really... but just go w/ it). He popped on the scene as a young stand-up comedian but became known as a household name when he landed the coveted role of Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House in the late 80s-early 90s.

Full House was the greatest show, wasn't it? I mean, you had comedy (corny and watered-down), family (23 people and a dog shoved into one house in downtown San Fran), stars (well... we didn't know how big those 2 bag-lady trend-setter Olsen girls would be, nor did we realize how many new hit sitcoms Jodie Sweetin would go on to star in... hahaha), and music (...or Beach Boy appearances). It was like the quadruple threat of tv shows, huh?

Not only did Bob rise to fame include sitcom life as Danny Tanner... he also hosted the very first edition of America's Funniest Home Videos. His asinine little skits and voice overs on the videos are just too funny to even recall right now. I vividly remember working at a restaurant called Champps that had many TV screens. I worked Saturday and Sunday mornings as a hostess, and since it was early, not much sports were on tv, so we had these America's Funniest Home Videos tapes on loop until 6pm. I absolutely loved it. Getting to see Bob while I worked... mmmmmm good!

... But enough about Full House and AFHV... this post is about Bob. He is like my hero. His hair/semi-mullet quaff so perfectly atop his head... towering 8 and a 1/2 feet in the air. Those long skinny legs really get me going. To top it all off, he is on one of my very new favorite shows, How I Met Your Mother (on CBS 8:30pm Mondays). That show is hilarious (honestly!). He is the voice over for "Older Ted", sort of like how the guy from Home Alone was the voice over for the kid on the Wonder Years. I knew his voice sounded familiar when I heard it, so I looked him up and found out that good 'ole Bob was the guy. That solidified my infatuation with the show. How could you not like it... Bob Saget, Band Geek from American Pie, and Doogie!!! Come on folks... Doogie!


I'll close this wonderful tribute to the Sag-man with some of his stand-up lines and quotes (post Full House fame):
