Yikes...random...
Sorry I've been away...
I had a grrrrrreat birthday (as Tony the Tiger would say). A bunch of my peeps came out to celebrate at club Divine in Ypsi, and those who couldn't sent me birthday wishes! Thanks all for making the start of my 23rd year a great one. We partied hard and I got a little drunk, but it was all good!
So time for some updates. The new job is going swimmingly. Everyone in the broadcast department is wonderful and I am learning a lot. I am no longer a lowly bottom feeder... I have a real title and a nice cushy desk job. That isn't to say I will be staying here forever. You all know this is just until my book deal goes through. ...And if you want to be mentioned in my dedication, you'll have to be supportive. None of this "you can't do it" or "it's a long shot" talk.
I have discovered that working w/ all women (or almost all women) in this department leads to WAY more gossip. For some reason, it is as if this dept. knows all. I get all the juicy dirt... just by eavesdropping! Ha! I loves it!!!
Decorating your office is tricky sometimes. Many don't care how their space looks, just so long as they get their job done... and in essence, I agree that that is the most important thing. However... I feel that one needs to work in a clean/organized/bright environment in order to "feel" good about their work. It may not be true for some... but for me it is the case. I go so far as to have all my folders color coordinated by account, as well as have nice pictures up of my friends.
Is this a faux pas? I've heard displaying personal pictures in the work place can be viewed as unprofessional... what do you all think? I say screw it... I need something to remind me that work isn't life... I DO have a life outside this fabulously decorated cube!
So... back to the beginning... my party was fun. As I said earlier, I was a tad drunk. I don't drink heavily often, but when it happens... I just let loose. I was at one point dancing in the cage and on a pole (w/ my clothes on you perverts!). So were most of my friends, but sadly I do think there are pictures of it somewhere. We'll just have to cross our fingers that they will never surface ;-)
All in all, it was a good night. I know I stumbled into the house and called a few people, don't remember what I said, but I hope it was nice and that you all had a good laugh at my famous drunk dials. If you aren't careful, I will drunk dial the people on YOUR phone... trust me, it's been known to happen.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!!! It is my sister's b-day today... she also starts her new job! Congrats and have a great day! YOU ARE OLD!!! 25!!!
