Ringtones

What is it about them that gets me so excited? I mean, they are nothing really. They are little bells and whistles that let you know when someone is trying to get a hold of you. But damn it all to hell if I'm going to have just ANY ringtone. I want separate ones for each person to call.

...and these are quite expensive! But I've found a way for me to save a pretty penny and cut my costs nearly in half. I joined some site that helps you create your own real music ringtones (the ones that play the actual song). Now, normally these real song ringtones cost about $3.00 per. PLUS many wireless providers cost a few cents per KB downloaded to your phone... each ringtone coming in around 100KB per song. So at $0.03 per KB... this will cost about $3.00. So a total of $6.00 per ringtone total. Boo! That is expensive! You could get a mean for $6.00. You could get a shirt at Target for $6.00. You could by the newest lipstick for $6.00.

So with my new little website thingamajig... I can create my own and just pay the $3.00 downloading charge from the wireless provider (which I hate... a company that rhymes with Dingular). The best part... you get to edit your own song to the exact :30 you want to play when someone calls! Cool!

So last night around 1am I began the converting, saving, converting, editing, saving, converting, uploading process and alas am left with wonderful new music coming from my cool new phone when people call. I have chosen a modest 8 ringtones as of now ($24 in the hole...). I have "Since You've Been Gone"- Kelly Clarkson (Linz), "Follow Through"- Gavin DeGraw (Julie), "I Knew I Loved You"- Savage Garden (??? :-) ), "A New Argentina"- Evita (Dad... hahaha inside joke), "Come Away With Me"-Norah Jones (mom), "PYT"- Michael Jackson (Charisse), "Gold Digger"- Kanye West (G-Dawg), "Felicity Theme Song"-Felicity (normal ringer). I plan on doing a few more... but is is good for now.

Look at how much damn $$$ I'm spending... this is money I should be saving and investing, why am I so haphazzardly throwing it away?

... I guess because I can. Eventually this will not be the case... but for now I better get all the ringtones I can.
