After Thanksgiving Sale Crazies...

I went, I saw, I lived to tell about it.

That's right, I braved the early morning hours, the blistering cold, and the swarms of deal-seeking shoppers on the day after Thanksgiving sales... at Target! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Scary, I know. But for my defense, I only went to one store at 6am and returned home promptly one hour later w/ my loot to my nice warm bed (which coincidentally had a sleeping sister under the covers!). I am NOT one of the crazies!

I went on a strict mission. As many of you know, I am a Target-oholic. I shop there about once per pay check and spend WAY too much. I had recently purchased 2 new winter coats which are marvelous! See ONE here and the OTHER here (which looks much cuter in person). I went to the sale to get the discount on both coats so that I didn't have to take one back. I bundled up at 5:45am and made my way to the store. I figured, "Damn... it is early... maybe I'll be one of the only ones." Please note I have NEVER been shopping the day after Thanksgiving... so I had no grounds to base that assumption on. Boy was I wrong. I showed up and the parking lot was packed to the brim. I had to park at Costco. I brought along my bags filled with the coats... stood in line at Customer Service for a good 20 mins... only to find out that neither coat was on sale. Bastards!

I figured I was already there, might as well see what they DID have on sale. I was surprised. There were some good deals, but I guess I expected the whole damn store to be 2 for 1 or something. Some items were flying off the shelves. There was a HUGE line near the digital cameras, so I steered clear of that area and continued my shopping. I purchased a few clothing items, nothing too extravagant. I bought one good purchase: An alarm clock that you hook your iPod up to. See it HERE. At the store it was originally $130 and I got it for $79. I thought that was a pretty good deal. But I really want THIS one... so maybe I'll give the Target one as a gift. Guess I'm partial to having a remote.

I also "accidentally" bought one two books. Opps! All who know me know I have a book-buying problem! Don't you all fret... there are plenty of books to buy me from my amazon.com wishlist! hee hee hee

All in all it was an OK experience which I will never repeat again unless they are handing out books for free :-)

You are much braver than I my dear.

Several people at work were at the stores at 2 a.m. the day after thanksgiving.

Maybe I'll do that someday just for the experience, as it is, there are no deals out there worth me getting out of my warm bed at that hour.

...unless you haven't gone to bed yet (@ 2am)... which is sometimes the case for me ;-)
