Peter...

Peter Jennings has died at age 67. He will be missed...

When I interned at ABC last summer, I did have a random incounter with Peter. I passed him in the hall a few time at work, saying "Hi" each time, getting a nod from Mr. Jennings. It didn't mean anything to him, but it meant the world to me. I always have admired the ABC News anchor, especially during 9/11. He was the only one who could comfort me during that time. Something about his voice, the way that he too got choaked up at times, but kept going. And then to work in the same building as this legend... it was amazing.

One or two of the days while interning, I was able to watch taping of World News Tonight in the studio. It was surreal to see him, 20 seconds before going live on air, still revising his script by hand. That's the way he liked it. Electronic telaprompters have existed for years, but he still liked his script hand written on a bunch of sheets of paper all taped together, feeding into a machine that blew it up to a size he could see it.

He always wore a pair of jeans and a button up denim shirt in the hours before he went to makeup. Then he would change into his taylored suits and looked stunning.

These are my memories of Peter Jennings... I will miss him...
