What I like to do for fun...

You know when you walk into Starbucks (or any coffee establishment) and you see those pretentious posers sitting there all neatly w/ their paper, laptop, and a book (that obviously isn't for school purposes)...

Well I'm one of THOSE. Yes, another secret obsession (besides Laguna Beach of course... Alex M. has hygiene problems! hahaha) is going to Starbucks and sipping my coffee while writing my freelance pieces or reading a book. I used to scoff at those who have done the same before I found myself in college growing to love the musak and quiet chatter of study groups discussing economics and orgo 2.

Now that I am grow and out of college, I have not yet seemed to break my Starbucks habit (and I don't believe I want to). No, it is not the highly addictives they serve for $5.95 per cup... it is the atmosphere that releases my tension and creative motivations. Many say, "Why don't you just go to a library to read, or work from your house?" And I say to them... (sound of me sticking my tongue out at them and blowing). The library is too quiet, and outside of college campuses... I find the individuals that frequent normal city libraries creepy (reading their newspapers attached to those big sticks... cough up the 75 cents why don't you, you cheap ass). In my home/room there are too many distractions. While I LOVE to read and have spend so much money on books (I have 50 listed on my wishlist at Amazon.com... if anyone is so inclined to purchase one for me!!! http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/3H19YW1OQKUPK ), 30 on my shelf that I still have yet to read, I find that if I am in my room, TV becomes my distraction... especially now that I bought Steve-O (see my TiVo entry if you are lost).

Starbucks has just the right atmosphere that is conducive to productivity... especially doing things that I love. So next time you see those pretentious posers, don't make fun... join in. They have comfy purple velvet chairs there for a reason!

yay! I had fun at starbucks last night, but their coffee still isn't that great. And in addition to it being over priced, they freaking charge and arm and a leg for their wireless!! I miss college and their, everywhere you turn, free WiFi hot zones! :(

Next time....we will have to go to Panera...they have comfy chairs in addition to FREE wireless. :)
