Congrats to the Newlyweds!!!

Finally! Steff and David are married!

The wedding went off without a hitch (at least to the naked eye). The day started off pretty early, getting our hair done at the crack of I-hate-getting-up-that-early-on-saturdays. I was real nervous about the hair. Humidity and my mane are NOT friends. But that day was lovely, sunny, high 70s, little/no moisture in the air.

We arrived at the hotel suite at 12:30 and chowed down on some Olga's (I think it is just a Michigan chain... but believe me, you don't know what your missing!!). The photographer arrived at 2pm to begin taking pictures of us getting ready and around the grounds. I have seen a few of these pictures and they look absolutely beautiful. I can't wait until they are posted on the photographer's website.

The wedding began at 4pm and was wonderful. Of course I cried during their vows. something about standing behind my sister while she was promising Dave to be with him for the rest of her life was just so moving. I am so honored I could be there for that. One of my Maid of Honor duties during the ceremony was to straighten out her train at any point (oh, and hand her kleenex when appropriate). It was a full mass, so the wedding party was seated for most of the service. That's what made it seem a little awkward when I had to get up and fix her dress a few times. Luckly I didn't trip or something. That would have been sweet :-(

Immediately after the ceremony, the wedding party was supposed to circle around (after exiting down the aisle) and go back into the cathedral (after the guests filed out to go down the hall to the reception). My sister had little bags made for the bridesmaids with our names embroidered on them to carry items like our make up, water, camera, and flip flops for use at the reception. These bags were put in the pews for us to use to touch up our faces before more pictures. After we used them, the wedding coordinator was supposed to take the bags and put them behind the head table so that we wouldn't have to carry them when being announced into the reception.

The DJ informed us that after we are announced in, we would immediately do the cake cutting, then go to the head table to do the best man/maid of honor speeches. After all of that, I went to the head table only to realize our bags weren't there. Not only did I have my flip flops, make up, and camera in there... my speech was in there!!!!!!!!!!!

I was nervous enough already, so I had to tell the DJ to stall. My uncle ran and found the bags, then hopefully had a few words w/ the wedding coordinator. I finally got my speech and read it. I probably only made it through a few lines before I started crying. Luckly my speech was pretty short to begin with (2 mins tops).

It all worked out and we all had a great time. It was a very emotional day for us all. Right now my sister and her new husband are in Hawaii (brats!!) enjoying their 10-day honeymoon. As you can see, I'm jealous ;-)

Thats about it. Hopefully I'll get the professional pics soon so I can share with you.

P.S.... check out my hair! haha

my hair and your hair really need to be friends. That way, on moisture-infused-air days they can team up and kick humidity's ass back west!

p.s. youpanj!
