Happy 5th of July!

Did you have a good weekend? Mine was OK... nothing to write home about. I went out to my cottage with some friends and family and had a good time. After all the fun and lounging in the sun was checked off the TO DO list, we all piled onto our boat and went to find a spot on the lake to enjoy the fireworks. Problem though... out anchor wasn't big enough to hold us down. The wind picked up out of no where and sent us flying into about 3 other boats (who were all properly anchored). I never realized how many dicks live on our lake. They were VERY pissed off that we MADE the wind blow us into them. Luckly we were moving at a snails pace and we could stop to boats from actually touching.

We finally found a shallow area that kept the boat in place (wince the engine was stuck in the sand... nice). The fireworks were great... first ones I have seen this year (since I avoided the Livonia Spree fireworks... and all the tools that came with them, and the Detroit Fireworks... avoided getting shot).

But... ok... I ran into a situation that I'm sure many of you have run into before. We were having all the boat/wind troubles when my mom was driving the boat. My dad kept yelling at her and telling her what to do, etc. However, this was in front of company. I swear... it was like watching a celebrity death match cage fight. Then as soon as the fireworks started, they were quite, acting as if it didn't happen. Ummmmm yeah. It's so weird how parents get sometimes at the strangest moments...
