George... he's the curious one...

So yeah... haven't been around for a little while. I've been kind of busy and uninspired (despite watching the hopeful battle is out on American Idol!). I basically have been working, watching TV, and (sometimes) reading.

These past few weekends have been just OK. Nothing really new to report. I do, however, want to mention that I went to see Curious George at the movies... on a Friday night. I know I know... I live life on the edge. It was very cute. We learn that the Man In The Yellow Hat's name is Ted. Kind of ruins the whole allure of the mystery for me, but whatev. I can deal. The music in the movie was very adorable. Jack Johnson did a nice job. I must download and add to my ever growing ipod.

Speaking of, yeah I just downloaded a bunch of shizz the other day to it. A lot of Disney songs. I don;t know what has gotten into me lately, but I have been wanting to listen to all that crazy stuff. So now after I listen to something like "Back dat ass up" and "Get Low" I can rock out to the soothing sounds of "Kiss De Girl" (Little Mermaid) or "I Won't Say I'm In Love" (Hercules). I seriously have an eclectic mix of musical tastes.

Same goes for my decorating tastes. I have just recently been on this wanting-to-buy-shizz-for-a-house-i-don't-have kick. I have bough numerous pieces of artwork that I want to hang, as well as vases and decorative statues... yet I have the room the size of a cubicle (ironic huh?). I have been noticing more and more how much I want/need to move out. No offense to my parents, they are great, but I am 23 year old graduate from a great university who has a job. Is there any real reason I need to be living at home? Yes I now have a large savings account because of it... and I'm still not being paid what I think I should be, but honestly I could afford to move out. I think I would just hate to do it, blow through my savings, and have to more home again when I'm even older. I don't want to rent, can't afford to buy, and lack someone I know w/ their own place w/ a spare room (can I move in???). Boo!

I think I may have landed another freelance writing job. $100 for 1,000 words. We'll see if it pans out. Looks like they want me to do reviews... which y'all know I love to do. If you subscribe to my gossip e-mail, you'd know me and my sources have a very critical eye. I'll keep ya posted.

Ok... so what else random can I talk about? Hmmmm... I don;t know. I kind of like writing w/ a stream of consciousness. It is funny to just write and not really know what you are writing about or if it makes sense. I have a feeling I'll have a lot more typos in this post since I'm not going to proof read before I post. Well who am I kidding... I never proof read. So basically I am just typing whatever comes to mind, thrilling, I know. Well... what can I say. I have a banana sitting on my desk I have brought for breakfast, yet it is about 11:15am right now. Damn, I am hungry, but I guess I'll just save it for lunch. One less thing I have to buy in the over-price cafeteria downstairs.

Speaking of bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S), did you ever notice that Curious George has no tail? I have had this conversation a few times w/ a few people, and many didn't realize it either. I thought maybe w/ the reveal of the Man In The Yellow Hat's name, we would also learn why George has no tail. Was it a birth defect? Did it get severed in a steel mill accident? Did he have it removed by choice (ala gender re-assignment surgery)? But no, it wasn't even referenced. I thought maybe if they weren't going to explain why, maybe they'd even acknowledge it at the very least. Like Ted (TMITYH) could say, "... and so I just came here to find this big statue... wow George, you don't have a tail... hmmm... weird... anyways, so this statue is hard to find...". How hard would that be. Kids aren't idiots, I'm sure they are realizing this shizz too (well, I didn't, but kids are smarter now than back in my day).

Ok, well the story has come full circle. I started w/ George, and I'm ending w/ him. Adios!
