I don't think that is necessary...

I got another freelance writing gig for an online magazine called NetClearly.com. Sounds pretty interesting enough... except they want me to send them a headshot of myself. Now I am not saying I would be embarrassed to send one, all I'm saying is... why?

I am a writer, not an actress (at least I'm not really anymore... boo!). I do see other writers attached pictures to their work, but I must say, I hate that. When I am reading a book, I get to the back cover and look at their picture, I am always disappointed because I am picturing them differently. Not that they look better or worse than what I am imagining... just different, and it kind of ruins it for me. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Probably... sorry I'm weird...

I guess I would just prefer to have a bio and that's it. But even those, they want the writer to write it. I hate writing one. It feels vain and weird. One of my bios for one website was this:

Lisa is a 22 year old graduate from the University of Michigan. She is an avid reader and has read almost every type of book under the sun. Her favorite types of books are fiction humor novels. She has been a freelance writer for the last year and has been published on sites like www.finetuning.com and www.associatecontent.com. Lisa has a blog where she updates about random things she finds amusing and annoying... a very funny read. Please visit her at: http://insomniatheatre.blogspot.com/. She finds that while she is a decent writer, she is a horrible speller... so bear with her.

Yikes! I swear, I never know what to say on these things... Here is another example:

Graduated form the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a B.A. in Communications. Aspires to be a novelist. Will YOU buy my book?

Was I drunk when I wrote this? They only wanted something short... and this is what I come up with... sheesh!

I embarrass myself. I have to come up with something cute and witty for this next one, but I have a strong feeling that I will fail miserably. Same goes for my headshot. I honestly have no good pictures of me without a beer in my hand. Ha! The only semi-decent ones have other people in them... and if I crop, maybe they will look ok. Maybe I should have you all help me pick the least embarrassing one. HELP! View the options and let me know which one is LEAST terrible :-) Sorry, I just really need help w/ this shizz. I don't want to look like an idiot. My grammar and mis-spellings do that enough for me as it is.
