Sometimes sleeping is just easier.....
It's true. By the time the workingman/woman gets done with the day, it is just easier to not do anything. We all WANT to have a life outside the office, but even at 22, I struggle to WANT to do things outside of work, purely due to the fact that I'm pooped. Occationally I'll go out on a random Thursday, but even Fridays leave me lethargic and droopy-eyed.
We cannot blame this on my getting to bed late, since now that I go to a trainer, I go to bed earlier than I have since elementary school. I think it is an epidemic. When you work in an office, all the bright lights and computer screens and stress tire one out by mid week. Eventhough work is only 8.5 hours per week, it seems to be taking over my life. I eat, sleep, and work (and 3 days a weeke work out). I feel like I've lost my innocent youth. I am now a 45 year old in middle management w/ 2.5 kids living in the burbs (not really, but this is how I feel).
There needs to be some sort of revolution in the American working class. Something has to change for us to get out of the monotony of our routines. Let's spice it up.... Let's change things around........ At the very least, please pay me enough so I only have to work 1/2 the week ;-)
